Mistletoe Moments: A Holiday Handwork Quilt

This one is going to be special. Join us for a 6- month class to create a true heirloom. In this class we will explore applique, fabric coloring, embroidery, English paper piecing and so much more. This new pattern from Petals & Patches in Australia is going to be very special. The project is done using Tilda’s just released new Christmas line – Merry Little Christmas. Kits will be available for the project.

Description

In this multi-session class, you will learn to blend a variety of hand-stitched techniques to craft a stunning holiday-themed quilt. You will master the process of applying and setting colored pencils on fabric to create vibrant, painterly details. Using your colored designs as a foundation, you will add dimension and texture with delicate hand embroidery stitches. Finally, you will incorporate the precise and portable technique of English Paper Piecing (EPP) to construct intricate, festive blocks for your quilt. This class is a perfect opportunity to slow down, enjoy the process, and create a truly personalized holiday quilt.

Skills covered

• Fabric Coloring: Learn how to use specialty colored pencils (like Prismacolor or Inktense) and textile medium to permanently color and shade on fabric.
• Embellishment Embroidery: Discover basic decorative stitches to outline, accent, and add detail to your quilt blocks, giving them a rich, handcrafted feel.
• English Paper Piecing (EPP): Create perfect geometric shapes and blocks by learning the basics of this traditional, stress-free patchwork method.
